Transportation can be defined as the movement of people and goods from one place to another.

 

Means of transportation are the ways in which people and goods are moved from one place to the other by land, by water and by air.The most common and oldest means transportation is by land.

 

In the past,people travelled long distances on foot and using animals like camels,donkey and horses. Before the invention of modern means of transportation, animals were the fastest way for people or good to get from one place to the other 

 

Old means of transportation were usually slow and not very comfortable.
