Meaning of the words that we have just spelt 

Bulletin: a short official report of news or information, especially one issued by a government agency or public organization

Diary: a book in which someone regularly writes down their personal experiences and observations

Gazette: a newspaper, especially one that is published in a small town or city

Period: a length of time, especially one during which a particular event or set of events occurs

Magazine: a periodical publication containing articles and illustrations, typically covering a particular subject or area of interest

Community: a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common

Press: the media, especially newspapers and news broadcasters, considered collectively

Presentation

The lesson presentation is done step by step. The class teacher or subject teacher does the following

 

Warm-Up:

  • Have students brainstorm a list of words they know related to media and communication.
  • Have a discussion as a class about the different types of media and how they are used to communicate information.

Direct Instruction:

  • Introduce the list of words and provide the definitions.
  • Have students work in pairs to come up with their own sentences using each word.

As a class, go over the example sentences and discuss any questions or variations.

Guided Practice:

  • Have students complete a fill-in-the-blank activity using the words from the list.
  • Have students work in small groups to create a story using as many of the words as possible

Independent Practice:
