Content :

The pupils are made to role play the roles of father and mother in the family and other pupils are made to greet the father and mother in the family . The class  teacher also guides the pupils in the area of greetings and responses

 

In the morning you will greet your daddy by saying good morning sir ang you will greet your mummy by saying good morning Ma

 

In the afternoon you will greet your daddy by saying good afternoon Sir and you will greet your mummy by saying good afternoon Ma 

 

In the evening you will greet you daddy by saying good evening sir and you will greet your mummy by saying good evening  Ma 

 

Boys will prostrate  will greetings and girls will knee down while greeting according to yoruba culture and tradition

 

When a friend has come into the class , you will say Welcome Ma or Sir

When a friend is about to leave the classroom , you will say Goodbye

 

Presentation

 

The topic is presented step by step

 

Step 1:

The class teacher revises the previous topics

 

Step 2.

He introduces the new topic by engaging the pupils in the conversation above in order to make the pupils to be familiar with the key words that are needed to introduce themselves

 

Step 3:

The class teacher guides  the pupils to give their own examples by  making them to  make simple sentences  and he corrects them when the needs arise

 

 

Conclusion

The class teacher wraps up or concludes the lesson by giving out short note to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught.

 

The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written by the pupils.

He or she does the necessary corrections when and where  the needs arise.

 

Evaluation : The class teacher does the necessary evaluation by asking the pupils some questions on the topic that has just been taught

  • What will you say if you want to greet daddy in the morning ?
  • What will you say if you want to greet mummy in the morning  ?
  • What will you say if you want to greet a friend that has just come in  ?
  • What will you say when your friend is about to leave you  ?
  • What will you say when you want to greet daddy in the evening   ?
