Format For Writing Lesson Notes

Here is a sample lesson note format for teachers:

  1. Date: The date of the lesson.
  2. Class: The class or grade level.
  3. Subject: The subject of the lesson.
  4. Topic: The topic of the lesson.
  5. Sub-topic: The sub-topic of the lesson.
  6. Time: The time the lesson will begin.
  7. Duration: The length of the lesson.
  8. Period/Day: The period or day the lesson will be taught.
  9. Reference Book(s): The book(s) used as reference material.
  10. Instructional Material(s): The materials used to teach the lesson.
  11. Entry Behaviour: The behaviour of the students at the beginning of the lesson.
  12. Behavioural Objectives: The objectives the teacher expects to achieve at the end of the lesson.
  13. Instructional Procedure: The steps the teacher will take to teach the lesson.
  14. Content: The content of the lesson.
  15. Summary/Conclusion: A summary of the lesson and its conclusion.
  16. Evaluation: The evaluation of the students’ understanding of the lesson.
  17. Assignment/Class Activity: The assignment or activity the students will complete after the lesson
