SuratulFalaq (Q113) and Suratun-Nas (Q114)

These are the final two Surahs of the Qur’an. They are both short Surahs, each containing only 6 verses, but they carry a lot of significance and are commonly recited in Muslim daily prayers.

SuratulFalaq (Q113) starts with seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of the creations He created, and it talks about seeking protection from black magic, envy, and harmful things that might occur in our daily life. The Surah says:

“Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak From the evil of that which He created And from the evil of darkness when it settles And from the evil of the blowers in knots And from the evil of an envier when he envies.”

These verses show the importance of seeking protection from negative influences and negative energy that may harm us.

Suratun-Nas (Q114) is similar in its meaning and message to SuratulFalaq, but it talks more about seeking refuge in Allah from the whispers of Satan and evil that may come from within ourselves or from other people. The Surah says:

“Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind. The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind From among the jinn and mankind.”

These verses encourage Muslims to seek refuge in Allah from the influence of Satan and from our own negative thoughts and actions. It reminds us that Allah is the only one who can protect us from harm and evil.

Both Surahs have a similar structure and are often recited together, especially during times of difficulty or when seeking protection from harm. They are a reminder to Muslims of the importance of seeking refuge in Allah and trusting in Him to protect us from harm
