Application of chemicals 

Chemical are synthetic materials that are used on farmers to boost the growth of crops and preserve farm produce. Some chemicals are also used to control pests, weeds and parasites.

 

Types of chemicals and what they are used for. 

Chemicals that are used to control pests are called pesticides

Chemical that are used to control insects are called insecticides

Chemicals that are used to control weeds are called herbicides

Chemicals that are used to boost the growth of crops or plants are called fertilizers

 

Harvesting of crops 

Harvesting of crops is the systematic collection of matured, fully grown crops. When crops are harvested, they are processed and stored in a proper way to prevent spoilage.

Storage of crops :

Yams are stored in the barns.

Grains are stored in the silo.

Beans are stored in sacks

Tomatoes are harvested and put in baskets.
