By the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to

  • Identify Fractions as numbers
  • Divide an object or fruit into two equal parts
  • Identify Fractions like half, one quarter, etc

 

Content 

 

When a whole is cut into two parts, it is called half. A whole contains two halves.

 

In a fraction, the number that is up is called the numerator and the number that is down is called the denominator.

 

🌗 = half = 1/2 = one over two ✌️

one quarter = one over four

 

 

 

Presentation :

The topic is presented step by step

Step 1 :The class revises the previous topic

Step 2 : The class teacher introduces the new topic which is counting, reading and identification of Numbers from one to five

Step 3 : Allow learners to give their own ideas and suggestions and corrects them when the needs arise

 

Evaluation

The class teacher makes the pupils to write fractions on the board

 

Conclusion

The class teacher goes round to access, read, marks and does the necessary corrects.
