CONTENT:  MEANING OF DANGER

LESSON 1 – WHAT IS DANGER ?

Danger is a word used to describe a situation that could cause harm or injury to someone or something. This could be a person, an animal, an object, or even the environment. For example, playing near a busy road could be dangerous because cars could cause harm if they were to hit you. It is important to always be aware of dangers and take steps to avoid them. This helps keep us and those around us safe.

WHAT ARE THE SOURCES OF DANGERS?

Dangers can come from many different sources and it is important to be aware of them. Here are some common sources of dangers:

  1. Slippery or wet floors can cause someone to slip and fall, which can result in injury.
  2. Broken glass or sharp objects can cause cuts or puncture wounds if someone steps on them or touches them.
  3. Unwanted materials, such as broken toys or sharp pieces of metal, can also be dangerous if they are left lying around.
  4. Uncovered wells or deep holes can be dangerous because someone could fall into them and get hurt.
  5. Strangers can sometimes be dangerous because we don’t know them and they could hurt us.
  6. Swampy areas can be dangerous because the ground can be soft and someone could sink into it and get stuck.
  7. Busy roads can be dangerous because cars and trucks can cause harm if they hit someone.
  8. Playing with sharp objects, such as scissors or knives, can be dangerous because they can cut or puncture the skin.
  9. Fire can be dangerous because it can cause burns or start a bigger fire that could harm people, animals, or property.
  10. Defective electronics or machines can be dangerous because they might not work properly and could cause harm.

It is important to be aware of these sources of danger and take steps to avoid them. This can include wearing protective gear, staying away from certain areas, or asking an adult for help. By being safe and taking precautions, we can help prevent accidents and keep ourselves and others safe.
