Please note

Year 1-2 learners are to be encouraged to apply inventive spelling – this is according to the word and how it sounds in their ears. The teachers can then use conventional spellings to encourage and correct the learner (conventional spelling) is the normal form of spellings.

The creative writhing can be broken down in these methods for year 1-2

1^st term – Oral composition – giving vivid description about what the learner wants to talk about.

2^nd term – Narrative – put stories, pictures to what they want to talk about

3^rd term – descriptive – ability to apply enough words to use in writing

Each learner comes across different type of words all the phase of each class the ability to spell and apply the inventive spelling should be encouraged and the teacher corrects with the conventional spelling.
