What is safety?

Safety means the absence of sudden event or happenings or occurrence that can bring sudden shock, pain, anxiety,, fear,, sadness or death

 

What is an accident?

An accident is a sudden occurrence that brings shock, pain, sadness or death

 

What are the causes of accident at home or in school 

1. Run up and down within the school compound
2. Jumping from one chair to another
3. Playing with fire
4. Playing with sharp objects
5. Running with your pen or biro in your mouth
6. Banana peels or skin on the floor
7. Wet floor
8. Playing with electric socket
9. Putting hand or iron objects inside the electric socket
10. Playing with matches

Causes of Accident in the laboratory or at the workshop

1. Fatigue or great tiredness
2. Working while you are stressed up or dizzy
3. Liquid on the floor such as water, oil or chemical spillage
4. Falling objects
5. Lifting heavy objects without asking for assistance from elders

How to Prevent Accident

1. Make sure that the floor is dry at all time
2. Do not litter the floor with dirt or banana peels
3. Do not play with sharp objects
4. When you are tired or stressed up, go for a break
5. When you are in doubt about how to use any electrical equipment or gadget, ask from a knowledgeable adult that is around
6. Do not run up and down the school compound with your pencil or biro in your mouth
7. Don’t play rough play
8. Don’t jump from the stair when using the stair case
9. Don’t play with fire
10. Do not put your hands into the electric sockets
