  • In Midian, he married Zipporah, the daughter of Jethro, and became a shepherd.
  • One day, while tending Jethro’s flock, he saw a burning bush that was not consumed.
  • As he moved closer, God spoke to him from the bush, calling his name: “Moses, Moses.”
  • God commanded him to remove his sandals because he was standing on holy ground.
  • God told Moses that He had seen the suffering of the Israelites and wanted to send him to deliver them.

2. Moses’ Response to God’s Call

Moses was afraid and made several excuses:

  1. Who am I? – He felt unworthy.
  2. What if they do not believe me? – He doubted his authority.
  3. I am not eloquent; I am a stammerer. – He felt inadequate.
  4. Send someone else. – He was reluctant to take the assignment.

God’s Response:

  • God assured Moses that He would be with him.
  • He gave him miraculous signs to convince the Israelites.
  • He appointed Aaron, Moses’ brother, to help him speak.

3. The Significance of Moses’ Response

  1. God can use anyone for His service, regardless of weaknesses.

    • Moses had a speech problem, but God still chose him.
  2. God does not require perfect people; He perfects those He calls.

    • Moses was not confident, but God equipped him.
