What are workers’ protests?
Workers’ protests are ways that are used by workers tobacco bring to the notice of the constituted authority their needs and demands.
Why do workers protest?
Workers protest because of the following reasons
- Poor conditions of service
- Poor wages or salaries
- Lack of medical care or facilities
- No insurance cover
- Delayed in payment of wages or salaries
- Non payment of wages or salaries
How do workers protest
Workers protest in the following ways
- Strike or Industrial actions : This happens when workers refuse to work just to drive home their points on their demands. Industrial actions may be inform or stay at home to avoid working or coming to office without doing anything
- Petition : Workers can make their needs and wants know to their leaders by writing a very strong worded petition
- Reduction in total output of production or a times the factory may be shut down by workers to protest
- Demonstration by workers by carrying cardboards or posters with their demands boldly written on the posters
- At times workers may resign from their Duties just to protest
