Objective:

Students will be able to understand and use “when” adverbial structure to describe time in written and spoken language.

Content :

“When” is an adverb that we use to talk about time. It helps us understand when something happened or will happen. Here are some examples:

  1. When I woke up this morning, the sun was shining through my window.

Explanation: “When” tells us the time when something happened. In this case, it tells us when the speaker woke up.

  1. I always eat breakfast when I get to school.

Explanation: “When” tells us the time when the speaker eats breakfast. In this case, it’s when they get to school.

  1. We’ll go to the park when it stops raining.

Explanation: “When” tells us the time when something will happen. In this case, it’s when the rain stops.

  1. When I grow up, I want to be a doctor.

Explanation: “When” tells us the time in the future when the speaker wants to be a doctor. In this case, it’s when they grow up.

Remember, “when” is an adverb that tells us about time. It helps us understand when something happened or will happen. Use it in your sentences to make them more accurate and descriptive

Lesson Plan Presentation
