1. Origin of the Word “Christian”
The name Christian was first used in a city called Antioch.
The people there saw the disciples behaving like Jesus Christ, so they called them Christians, meaning Christ-like.
2. Who is a Christian?
A Christian is someone who:
Believes that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world.
Allows Jesus to live in his or her heart.
Follows the teachings of Jesus.
3. The Holy Book of Christians
Christians read the Holy Bible.
The Bible contains the word of God and His instructions for how we should live.
Christians read it every day and obey its teachings.
4. How to Grow as a Christian
To grow as a Christian, we must:
Read the Bible daily.
Pray every day.
Attend church and Sunday school.
Show love and kindness like Jesus.
