What is water ?

Water is liquid. It flows. It is made up of two elements which are oxygen and hydrogen. The human body contains water. The earth contains water.

Qualities of Good Water That Is Suitable For Man’s 

These are the qualities of good water that is suitable for man’s use

 

  • Good water must be colourless 
  • Good water must be tasteless 
  • Good water must be odorless 
  • Good water must germ free 
  • Good water must be free form solid or semi soluble impurities 
  • Good water must not be hard

 

Methods of Water Purification

We can make dirty water clean by making use of some or all of the following methods of water purification.

  • By boiling

  • By filtering

  • By adding alum

  • By adding chlorine

  • By distillation

What are the consequences or effects of drinking or making use of unclean water 

  • Vomiting or diarrhea

  • Skin rashes

  • Water-borne diseases such typhoid,

  • cholera and jaundice

  • Dehydration

  • Death
