Plan Lesson Note and Scheme of work

Week 1

1. Speech work : Revision – Aural Discrimination of Diphthongs,  

2. Reading Comprehension:  The use of modern medicine and its moral qualifications and qualities in our society today

3. Structure : Formation of Adjectives from Nouns eg ( courage – courageous) (Tragedy – Tragic) ( Storm – Stormy) 

4. Dictation for week 1: Critique, indigenous, disc, virus, proclaim antics, hilarious, fantasy, bare, magnanimous 

5. Composition : Writing an informal letter on how I spent my last holiday 

6. Writing technical manuals – keeping a diary 

Week 2

1. Speech work : Pronunciation of mono and bi syllable words. For example “cat” “dog” “sky” (mono-syllabic) “ho-tel” “po-em” “cho-rusk” 

2. Reading Comprehension : A play on the title “The forgotten child” by Tosan Bolujo 

3. Structure : Word Formation How to form nouns from adjective

4. Dictation for Week 2 Primary 6 Second Term : 

5. Composition : Feature of a play and writing a play on the value of hard work 

Week 3

1. Speech Work : Participating in a short play 

2. Structure Work : Homonyms 

3. Reading Comprehension : A passage on an argumentative essay on the topic :  Democratic rule or Military rule, The teacher and the learner, Village or town school 

4. Dictation for the third week Primary 6 Second Term Week 3 

5. Composition Argumentative Essay : Science does more harm to humanity than good

4. Composition / Creative Writing : Strategies for safe water 

Week 6 

1. Speech Work Guided Speech Making in Topics such as Why we should recycle water, How we can save water and what to do to protect our water

2. Structure : Similes and metaphor Meaning, Examples and Uses 

3. Passage on the important topics in Nature 

4. Grammar Word Formation Verbs From Adjectives. For example glad becomes gladden, dark becomes darken, wide becomes widen 

5. Dictation / Spelling For Second Term Week 6 Primary 6

6. Comprehension passage on Drug use and its consequences
