Tenses _ present, Past and past participle

Tenses are a way of showing when something happened. There are three main tenses: present, past, and past participle. Let’s look at each one in more detail with some examples.

  1. Present tense: The present tense is used when we talk about something that is  done always, regularly, everyday or every time . For example:
  • I am playing with my toys.
  • She dances every day after school.
  • The sun shines brightly in the sky.
  1. Past tense: The past tense is used when we talk about something that happened before now. For example:
  • Yesterday, I played with my toys.
  • She danced at her school’s talent show last week.
  • The sun shone brightly yesterday.
  1. Past participle: The past participle is a form of the verb that is used with the verb “to have” to show that an action has been completed. For example:
  • I have played with my toys.
  • She has danced at many different competitions.
  • The sun has shone brightly all day.
