Obedience saves Binta

One day, Binta’s mother told her about some people who do bad things to children.

Mother, what bad things do they do to children? Binta asked.

Some of these bad people give sweets to children, pick them up in their cars, and later kill them. Some other bad men take little girls into their rooms and do bad things to them. If anybody stops hi car and asks you to get in, say “NO”. if any man forces you into his room or puts his hand under your dress, shout to attract attention; her mother told her.

One day, as Binta was coming home from school, a man stopped his car and offered her money and a chocolate. She remembered what her mother  had told her about bad people. ‘NO’, thank you; she said and ran home.
Another day, when Binta was going to buy sugar, a man in a nearby house called her. She refused to go. The man walked towards her and she ran. Shouting for help.

Binta went home and told her mother about what had happened. Good girl! Run and shout anytime you think you are in trouble, and tell me whatever people do or try to do to you; her mother said, very pleased with her daughter.
