1. Debate: A Male Child is More Useful Than a Female Child (Against)
Good day, panel of judges, teachers, and my fellow students. I am here to oppose the motion which says a male child is more useful than a female child. I strongly disagree because both male and female children are equally important in the family and society.
A female child can become a doctor, lawyer, president, or teacher just like a male child. Great women like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Chimamanda Adichie have made Nigeria proud. Girls also take care of their parents when they grow old.
Both boys and girls should be given equal opportunities. What matters is character, hard work, and honesty, not gender. Therefore, I strongly oppose this motion.
2. Letter to Your Father About the End-of-Year Party
No. 5, Adeyemi Street,
Surulere, Lagos State.
6th May, 2025.
Dear Daddy,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to tell you about our school’s end-of-year party. It was a very exciting day filled with music, games, and delicious food.
We danced, played football, and exchanged gifts. I received a storybook from my best friend. The teachers also gave us prizes for good behavior and hard work.
Daddy, I wish you were there to see how happy I was. I miss you and hope you visit us soon.
Your loving son,
Emmanuel.

4. Biography of a Great Nigerian: Chinua Achebe
Chinua Achebe was a famous Nigerian writer, born on 16th November 1930 in Ogidi, Anambra State. He attended Government College, Umuahia, and University of Ibadan.
He is best known for his book Things Fall Apart, which is read all over the world. The book tells the story of African culture and colonialism.
Achebe worked as a teacher, broadcaster, and professor in Nigeria and abroad. He won many awards for his excellent writing.
Chinua Achebe died on 21st March 2013, but his books still teach wisdom today.
5. Drug Abuse and Its Implication
Drug abuse means taking harmful drugs without a doctor’s advice. It includes taking hard drugs like cocaine, Indian hemp, and tramadol.
When people abuse drugs, it can damage their brain and body. It causes poor health, mental problems, and even death.
Many young people who abuse drugs become criminals and drop out of school. It also brings shame to their family and community.
We should avoid bad friends and say no to drugs. It is better to stay healthy and be useful to the society.
6. Elements of Soil
Soil is the upper part of the earth where plants grow. It is made up of different parts called elements.
The main elements of soil are sand, clay, silt, humus, air, and water. Sand makes the soil loose, while clay holds water. Silt is smooth and fertile, and humus is made from dead plants and animals.
Air and water in the soil help plants to grow well. Soil is very important because it supports farming and construction.
Farmers add manure to soil to make it rich and productive.
