Behavioural Objectives :  At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  • Say ways of responding in emergency situations at home

 

Content :

Responding to Emergency situations at Home

Among the emergency situations that could occur at home are fire, drowning, suffocation, fall ,cut  etc

  • Be calm and quiet
  • Give first aid
  • Call emergency officials if necessary
  • Use other emergency response strategy relevant to the emergency situation.
  • Appropriate Actions in emergency situations

What we do during situations will determine the level of minimizing the injury ,losses on the victims of the incidents,

Therefore, taking appropriate actions is very important,

some of these actions include,

Be calm and do not panic

call necessary security agents or NEMA on their emergency lines

Try and manage the situation in the little way you can before the arrival of professionals

Raise alarm if it will help solve the problem

Move away from the scene if necessary

The class teacher revises the previous topics

He introduces the new topic

 

Step 3:

The class teacher allows the pupils to give their own examples and he corrects them when the needs arise

The teacher summarize the lesson. He or she gives out a board summary of the topic as note . He or she goes round to mark and does the necessary corrections
