These are some of difficulties and problems that are faced by farmers in Nigeria .
Problems of Agriculture.
Use of crude implements (hoes and cutlasses) : Most subsistence farmers in Nigeria are faced with the problems of crude implements as most of them just produce enough farm produce fir the consumption of their family members . The hoes and cutlasses used by these farmers are always old and worn out .
Unstable government policies : Government policies go a very long way in motivating and encouraging farmers and agriculture generally in Nigeria . Government in the past have been seen subsidizing the price of fertilizers in order to encourage farming . Government can also make sure that they encourage agriculture by putting in place good policies that will make agriculture attractive to everybody .
Bad roads : Most roads in Nigeria are very bad because they are all filled with pot holes and some of them are without proper drainage system .When ever it rains , all the road networks are water logged and flooded making it very difficult for farmers to transport most of their produce to major cities where they can fetch farmers good income on sales .
