These are some of difficulties and problems that are faced by farmers in Nigeria .
Problems of Agriculture.
Lack of storage facilities : The essence of storage facility is to make farm produce fresh and available throughout the season even when the product is not in season . But the lack of good storage facilities make it difficult for farmers to preserve and keep their produce fresh as most of their produce always get spoilt because of good storage facilities .
Lack of improved seed : Most seeds that are planted by farmers can be improved on by making use of improved seeds for better yield, that will be able to resist pest , tolerate drought, and yield more income for the farmers . This can be achieve be leveraging on the already accomplished research results in the field of botany, crop science and crop improvement.
Land tenure system : Land Tenure system is the system of land ownership which makes it very difficult for lands to be available for agricultural activities . It is only the people that are very rich that are able to secure large expanse of land for agricultural purpose . He or she does the necessary corrections when and where the needs arise.
