Content :

Numerators are the numbers that are written on top of Fractions while denominators are the numbers that are written under the Fractions.

Given a fraction one over four (1/4)

One is the numerator

Four is the denominator.

In this lesson we want to discus about the addition of Fractions with the same denominators.

When ever we want to add up Fractions with the same denominators, we just sum up the Numerators and the value of the denominators we not change because it was just the Numerators that we added together.

More samples :

1.Add up 1/9 and 2/9

Solution. You will need to sun up the Numerators which are 1 and 2

1 plus 2 equal to 3

Answer equals to 3/9

Sample 2

Find the sum of 3/8 and 2/8

3+2 = 5

Answer = 5/8
