DRAMA SCRIPT
Scene 1: The Beginning
Narrator:
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Today, we present a short drama titled “The Journey So Far”, celebrating our dear Primary Six pupils who are graduating today. It’s a story of growth, friendship, and hope for the future. Let’s begin!
(Lights up on six pupils standing in a classroom setting)
Pupil 1:
I remember my first day in this school. I was scared and didn’t know anyone.
Pupil 2:
Me too! I cried because I didn’t want to leave my mum.
Pupil 3:
But look at us now — we’ve grown, we’ve learned, and we’ve made wonderful friends.
(They hold hands)
All Pupils:
Together we made it!
Scene 2: Lessons Learned
Pupil 4:
We learned how to read, write, and solve Mathematics problems.
Pupil 5:
We learned to respect our elders and love one another.
Pupil 6:
Our teachers taught us not just lessons from books but also how to be good and kind children.
(They each step forward and share one thing they learned — e.g., “I learned how to read stories.” “I learned about Nigeria’s heroes.” “I learned to be neat and obedient.”)
Narrator:
Indeed, education is the light that shows us the way.
Scene 3: Words from the Head Teacher
(Head Teacher walks in)
Head Teacher:
Dear children, today you are moving to a new chapter. Remember the values you’ve learned. Be brave, be kind, and always make your teachers and parents proud.
All Pupils:
Yes, Sir/Ma!
Scene 4: Advice from a Parent
(Parent Representative steps forward)
Parent:
We are proud of you. Never forget where you come from. Face your new school with confidence and continue to shine.
All Pupils:
Thank you, Ma/Sir!
Scene 5: Younger Pupil’s Farewell
Younger Pupil:
I will miss my seniors. Thank you for helping me with my homework and playing with me. I wish you good luck!
Pupil 3:
We will miss you too. Work hard and be good.
(They hug)
Scene 6: Final Song and Farewell
(All pupils sing together — pick a simple farewell song like “May We Always Have This Moment” or “Goodbye, Good Friends” or a school anthem)
Narrator:
As we say goodbye today, may your future be bright and your path clear. Congratulations to our graduates!
All:
Goodbye!
(They bow and exit)
Notes for the Production
Keep costumes simple: school uniforms for pupils, native attire or formal wear for teachers/parents.
Use simple props: blackboard, desks, and chairs.
You can include a class anthem, poem, or dance at the end to liven it up.
Assign roles early for practice and add drama through facial expressions and gestures.
Graduation Farewell Poem
Title: “As We Say Goodbye”
Today we stand, so proud, so tall,
In this big hall, we recall it all.
From tiny hands and teary eyes,
To shining stars that touch the skies.
We learned to read, we learned to write,
We faced our fears, we did what’s right.
Our teachers’ voices, kind and strong,
Have guided us, all along.
Though we leave, our hearts will stay,
In every lesson, every play.
To our parents, friends, and all we knew,
We say thank you — we’ll miss you too!
So wave goodbye, but do not cry,
We’ll meet again, as years go by.
For in our hearts, this school will be,
A place of joy and memory.
(All pupils together):
Thank you, thank you, one and all,
For helping us to stand so tall!
Graduation Farewell Song
Title: “Goodbye, Good Friends”
(Tune suggestion: Similar to “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” for easy memorization.)
Verse 1:
Goodbye, good friends, it’s time to go,
We’ve learned so much, we want you to know.
You made us laugh, you made us smile,
You helped us grow, all the while.
Chorus:
Wave your hands and don’t be shy,
We’ll meet again, by and by.
Goodbye, good friends, it’s time to part,
But we’ll keep you in our heart.
Verse 2:
To all our teachers, kind and dear,
We thank you now, and give a cheer.
To mum and dad, you made us shine,
We’ll make you proud, time after time.
(Repeat Chorus)
Ending:
So goodbye, goodbye, one more cheer,
We’ll miss you all, see you next year!
