Content:
There are three main kinds of scale in western music: diatonic, chromatic, and pentatonic.
Diatonic scales are the most common and include the major and minor scales. These scales have seven notes, with semitones between the third and fourth notes, and the seventh and eighth notes.
Chromatic scales have twelve notes, with semitones between all adjacent notes.
Pentatonic scales have five notes, with semitones between the second and third notes, and the fourth and fifth notes.
Other types of scales
These include the blues scale, which has semitones between the first and second notes, and the fifth and sixth notes; and the whole-tone scale, which has only whole tones (no semitones).
Choosing a scale
When choosing a scale to use in your music, it is important to consider the overall mood or feel you are trying to create. Minor scales tend to have a sad or mysterious sound, while major scales sound happier and more upbeat. Chromatic scales can sound very intense or suspenseful. Pentatonic scales are often used in folk or traditional music and have a very distinct sound.
Once you have decided which scale to use, you can start to experiment with different melodies and harmonies within that scale.

What is a scale?
A scale is a sequence of musical notes. Scales are used to create melodies and harmonies, and can be either major or minor. Major scales have a bright, happy sound, while minor scales sound sad or mysterious. Chromatic scales are very intense, and pentatonic scales have a distinct folk sound.
Conclusion
The class teacher wraps up or concludes the lesson by giving out a short note to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught.
The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written by the pupils.
He or she does the necessary corrections when and where the needs arise.
