Obedience to God

Obedience means doing what you are told to do, without complaining. In the letter

St Paul wrote to Philippians, he told Christians to be like Jesus. Jesus was humble,

he obeyed God. When God sent him into the world to suffer and die for our sins,

he obeyed. Jesus is like God, but he accepted to come into this world like a

human being. People abused him and punished him. They even nailed him to the

cross. God blessed Jesus because he obeyed Him. God brought Jesus back from

death to life three days after Jesus had died

Ways to obey God and our parents

We obey God and our parents when:

1 We show good behaviour such as respecting people.

2 We do not steal, fight or cheat in class or during exams.

3 We go to church to worship, and read the Bible always.

Ways to obey the laws of our nation, Nigeria

We should love our country by obeying her laws. Some of the ways we

show obedience to our nation’s laws are:

1 Helping to keep our homes, classrooms and their surroundings clean.

2 Respecting our elders, our teachers, our seniors, etc.

3 Telling the truth always, and not fighting or damaging things.

4 Singing the national anthem well.

Those who do not obey the laws of our nation are punished. For example, if a

person who is up to 18 years old steals, he will be put in prison.

Rewards Of Obedience

  1. It makes people to love us

  2. It makes people to give us gifts

  3. It makes us to be successful

  4. It saves us from punishment

  5. It is the will of God
