Uses of plants
Plants are useful both to animals and man, there are various uses of plants, some are
- It provides shelter
- Serves as source of food either directly or indirectly
- Provides job and employment for people
- Some plants are eaten as vegetables
- Some plants are boiled and used as local herbal medicine or agbo
- Big plants like iroko trees are used to build ships and houses
- Serves as source of income
- They are source of raw materials for manufacturing companies
- Can be used in the production of paper, textile etc
- They are uses to produce drugs

Uses of Crops
There are many uses of crops. These include:
- Provision of food for humans
- It provides shelter (houses) for people to live.
- Clothing materials are made from crop materials e.g. cotton.
- Crops planted can be used to control erosion.
- Some crops are used as ornamentals such as flower to decorate and beautify our surroundings.
- Crops provide wood for house-hold furniture such as beds, tables and chairs.
- Leaves, bark of stem and roots of some crops serve medicinal purpose.
- Some crops are taken as beverages like cocoa, coffee and tea.
- Crops serve as fuel.
- Crops provide useful materials such as rubber, gums, resin, perfume, etc.
- Some crops or crop parts are used in making manures e.g compost and green manure.
- Source of feeds for livestock.
- For making margarine and soap e.g. oil palm
- For production of jam and juices e.g. mango, pineapple etc.
- For production of dye e.g. kola
Uses of Crop By-products
The crops harvested by farmers are sometimes used directly as food. Some crops such as rice and sugar cane are first processed to get the main products. During processing by-products or waste substances are obtained. The different by-products serve different purposes. The by-product of some crops and their uses are given below:

Conclusion
The class teacher wraps up or conclude the lesson by giving out short note to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught.
The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written by the pupils.
He or she does the necessary corrections when and where the needs arise.
