Content :
The Meaning Of Greetings : Greetings is a way of showing accolades or respect to someone that is older than we are . It is a cultural way and religious instruction to give honour and respect to who so ever that is older than we are.
Forms of Greetings are
- kneeling
- prostrating
- shaking of hands
- clenching of fist
- taking a short bow
Greetings can also be a way of showing loyalty and respect
Respect means having regards for our elders. When we show respect to those who are older than us i.e. our parents, teachers, older ones at home, it shows that we are good children and they will love us at all times.
When we wake up in the morning, we must greet our parents and say ’good morning.’ Also, when we see our parents or elders carrying something, we must help them, it is a sign of respect.
Why must we greet our elders and parents
We must greet our elders and parents because of the following reasons
- It is the commandment of God with a promise that is attached to it
- It shows that we are well brought up
- It shows that we are disciplined
- It shows that we are well mannered
- If we respect elders and our parents , other people will respect us as well
