IMPORTANCE OF DATING IN HISTORY

Dating is important in history because it helps us to put events in order. It also helps us to understand when something happened in relation to other events

There are two main ways of dating historical events. These are

-Relative dating: This is where you try to work out how old something is by looking at the things around it. For example, if you found a coin in the ground, you could date it by looking at the style of coin and comparing it to other coins

-Absolute dating: This is where you use a specific date to work out how old something is. For example, if you knew that a particular event happened in 1066, you could use this to date other things that happened around the same time

THE NEEDS TO NOTE IMPORTANT DATES IN HISTORY

It is important to note down important dates in history so that we can remember when things happened. It can also be helpful to have a timeline of events. This can help us to see how different events are connected and how they have affected each other
