Behavioural Objectives :  At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to say the meaning of values and maintenance

 

 

Content :

 

CONTENT: INTRODUCTION (VALUE)

Value is the usefulness or worth of something.

Values are the additional worth that we put on what we love and cherish

Value determines or describes what is important to us.

We value relationship, we cherish good behaviours. We value good behaviour and respect.

National Values are honesty, integrity, hardwork, faithfulness etc

What is important to us is something that guides, motivates attitudes and actions.

 

MAINTENANCE

We need to maintain in order to sustain.

Things that are not maintain or sustain are soon lost, damaged or destroyed.

Health that is not maintained is soon lost

Marriage that is not maintained is soon lost

Machine that is not maintained will soon get damaged or destroyed

Maintenance is the activities carried out on a daily or regular basis to make our things in good working condition.

Maintenance is done through simple –
1. Cleaning
2. Testing
3. Servicing
4. Repairing or Replacing the Parts
5. Rebuilding
6. Reclaiming, Etc.
Maintenance preserves the value placed on things.

 

 

Presentation

The topic is presented step by step

 

Step 1:

The class teacher revises the previous topics

 

Step 2.

He introduces the new topic

 

Step 3:

The class teacher allows the pupils to give their own examples and he corrects them when the needs arise

 

Evaluation :

 

  1. What is maintenance
  2. What are values
  3. What are those things that need to be maintained
  4. Mention four national values
  5. What are those things that must be valued at national level

Conclusion :

 

The class teacher wraps up or conclude the lesson by giving out short note to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught. The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written. He or she does the necessary corrections when the need arises.
