I. Meaning of Adverbials:
An adverbial is a word or a group of words that functions like an adverb, modifying a verb, an adjective, or even a whole sentence. It gives more information about how, when, where, or why something happens.
II. Features of Adverbials:
- They provide more details about the action or state in the sentence.
- They can describe time, place, manner, reason, or condition.
- They can appear at the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence.
III. Functions of Adverbials:
Adverbials tell us:
- When something happens (time).
- Where something happens (place).
- How something happens (manner).
- Why something happens (reason).
IV. Types of Adverbials:
- Adverbials of Time: They tell us when something happens.
