Duties of NAFDAC and NDLEA

Duties of NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control):

  1. Regulate and control the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, and sale of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, and chemicals in Nigeria.
  2. Conduct laboratory analysis of regulated products to ensure they meet safety standards and specifications.
  3. Inspect and monitor food and drug establishments to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  4. Prosecute offenders who violate NAFDAC regulations and guidelines.
  5. Conduct public enlightenment campaigns on food and drug safety.

Duties of NDLEA (National Drug Law Enforcement Agency):

  1. Combat the trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs in Nigeria.
  2. Arrest and prosecute drug traffickers and dealers.
  3. Seize and confiscate illicit drugs and drug-related assets.
  4. Work with international agencies to prevent cross-border drug trafficking.
