PEOPLE IN OUR COUNTRY

Nigeria is a diverse country with over 250 ethnic groups. However, the three largest ethnic groups are the Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo.

  1. The Hausa are the largest ethnic group in Nigeria and are primarily concentrated in the north of the country. They are predominantly Muslim and their culture is heavily influenced by Islamic tradition. The Hausa language is widely spoken throughout Nigeria and is used as a lingua franca in many parts of the country.
  2. The Yoruba are the second largest ethnic group in Nigeria and are primarily concentrated in the western part of the country. They are predominantly Christian and their culture is heavily influenced by traditional African beliefs and practices. The Yoruba language is spoken by millions of people in Nigeria and is also widely spoken in other parts of West Africa.
  3. The Igbo are the third largest ethnic group in Nigeria and are primarily concentrated in the southeastern part of the country. They have a rich cultural heritage and are known for their strong traditions of music, art, and dance. The Igbo language is spoken by millions of people in Nigeria and is also spoken in other parts of West Africa.

These three ethnic groups, along with many others, make up the diverse and culturally rich fabric of Nigeria.

  • let them know that Yoruba people like food like amala, iyan, eba, ewedu, gbegiri,efo riro
  • let the pupils know that the hausa love food like tuwo shikanfa with groundnut soup, wanke
  • igbo enjoy eating nkwobi, igbo bitter leaves, fufu and oha soup

 

 

Conclusion

The class teacher wraps up or concludes the lesson by giving out short notes to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught.

The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written by the pupils.

He or she makes the necessary corrections when and where the needs arise.
