Objective: To introduce grade 3 students to new vocabulary words and help them understand their meanings so they can use them in their speaking and writing

Content
Vocabulary Building (Teaching of New Words)
- Admire – To like and respect someone or something for their qualities or achievements. Example: I admire my teacher for being kind and patient.
- Behave – To act in a certain way, especially in a well-mannered and appropriate way. Example: You should always behave politely when you meet new people.
- Challenge – Something that is difficult to do or achieve, but can help you learn and grow. Example: Learning a new language can be a fun challenge.
- Determine – To make a decision or find out something by investigating or studying. Example: We need to determine the best way to solve this problem.
- Enormous – Very big or large in size or amount. Example: The elephant was enormous, much bigger than any other animal in the zoo.
- Fascinate – To be very interested in something or someone, and find it enjoyable or exciting to learn more about them. Example: I am fascinated by space, and love reading books about planets and stars.
- Generous – To be kind and giving, and to share with others without expecting anything in return. Example: My friend is very generous, and always shares her toys with me.
- Incredible – Something that is amazing or hard to believe. Example: The magic trick was incredible, I couldn’t figure out how he did it.
- Observe – To watch or notice something carefully and closely, and learn more about it. Example: I like to observe the birds in my backyard and see what they are doing.
- Persevere – To keep trying and working hard, even when things are difficult or challenging. Example: If you persevere and keep practicing, you can learn to play a musical instrument well.

Lesson Presentation
