MEANING OF FOOD
Food is any subsistence either liquid or semi solid that in taken into the body system in order to sustain and maintain life . Food is also needed for proper body growth function and development .
What is Balanced Diet or Adequate meal
A balance diet meal is a meal that contains all classes of food in the right proportion . There are six classes of food which are
- carbohydrates
- proteins
- vitamins
- fats and oils
- mineral salts
- water
Examples of food balanced diet
- a small portion of white rice and fried rice with moin moin and turkey
- a small portion of coconut rice and dodo with salad
- a small portion of amala with gbegiri and ewedu with catfish
- vegetables and legumes (beans)
- fruit.
- grains and cereals.
- lean meat, poultry, fish, eggs, legumes (beans) tofu, nuts, seeds.
- milk, cheese, yoghurt or alternatives.
Presentation
The topic is presented step by step
Step 1:
The class teacher revises the previous topics
Step 2.
He introduces the new topic
Step 3:
The class teacher allows the pupils to give their own examples and he corrects them when the needs arise
Conclusion
The class teacher wraps up or conclude the lesson by giving out short note to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught.
The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written by the pupils.
He or she does the necessary corrections when and where the needs arise.
