  1. Greet the students and introduce the topic of the day.
  2. Show pictures of police officers and police cars and ask the students if they know who they are.
  3. Ask the students what they think the police do.

Body (30 minutes):

  1. Write the following keywords on the whiteboard: law and order, protect, prevent, investigate, patrol, provide security, enforce, work with others, educate, and community policing.
  2. Explain each keyword and give examples of how the police carry out their duties.
  3. Show interactive videos of police work to reinforce the concept.
  4. Distribute the fill-in-the-blank worksheets and ask the students to fill them out using the keywords.
  5. Monitor the students as they work on the worksheet and provide help as necessary.

Conclusion (10 minutes):
