JESUS LOVES ALL PEOPLE
Jesus showed love to people in many ways. Here are some examples:
- He healed the sick: Jesus showed love to people by healing their illnesses and disabilities. For example, he healed a man who was paralyzed (couldn’t move his legs) so that he could walk again.
- He fed the hungry: Jesus also showed love to people by feeding them when they were hungry. One time, he fed a crowd of over 5,000 people with just a few loaves of bread and fish!
- He forgave people: Jesus showed love by forgiving people who had done wrong. For example, when a woman who had committed adultery (cheating on her husband) was brought before him, he forgave her instead of punishing her.
- He spent time with people: Jesus also showed love by spending time with people and listening to them. He talked with people from all walks of life, including children, the sick, and the poor.
- He sacrificed himself: Finally, Jesus showed love by sacrificing himself for others. He allowed himself to be crucified (nailed to a cross) so that all people could be forgiven for their sins and have eternal life.
Some examples from the Bible of how Jesus demonstrated His love for mankind:
- Matthew 5:44-48: In this passage, Jesus tells his followers to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. He explains that if we only love those who love us, we are no better than anyone else. By showing love to our enemies, we are demonstrating God’s love to all people.
- John 15:12: Jesus says in this passage, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” He is telling his followers to love each other with the same kind of selfless, sacrificial love that he has shown to them.
- Mark 10:46-50: In this story, a blind man named Bartimaeus calls out to Jesus for help. Even though the crowd tries to silence him, Jesus stops and shows him love and compassion by healing him of his blindness.
- Luke 19:1-10: In this story, Jesus shows love to a man named Zacchaeus, who was a tax collector and not well-liked by the people. Jesus invites himself to Zacchaeus’ house and spends time with him, which leads to Zacchaeus repenting of his sins and turning his life around.
- John 8:1-11: In this story, a woman caught in the act of adultery is brought to Jesus to be stoned to death. Instead of condemning her, Jesus shows her love and compassion by forgiving her and telling her to go and sin no more
