Story Title: “Obey the Road Signs”
(A passage about a young boy who learns the importance of road safety.)
Passage:
Tunde was always in a hurry. Every morning, he would run across the busy street near his school without looking both ways. His mother often warned him, but he never listened.
One day, as he dashed across the road, he heard a loud horn. A car swerved and stopped just in time! The driver, an elderly man, rolled down his window. “Young boy, do you want to get hurt?” he asked sternly.
Tunde was shaken. He looked around and noticed a zebra crossing just a few meters away. The driver explained, “Always use the zebra crossing and look left, right, and left again before crossing.”
From that day, Tunde changed his ways. He waited for the green pedestrian light and used the zebra crossing. He also learned the meaning of traffic signs—red meant stop, yellow meant get ready, and green meant go.
Now, whenever his friends tried to run across the road carelessly, Tunde reminded them: “Safety first! Roads are not playgrounds!”
Moral Lesson: Following road safety rules can save lives.
