Entry Behaviour : Learner are familiar with accident scenes are they have probably seen situations that demand urgent emergency attentions .
Ask the pupils what are the causes of accident
What are the necessary first Aid assistance that can be given to an injured person before the arrival of a medical doctor

TOPIC; TYPES OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
ROAD ACCIDENT; A road accident is an unfortunate incident involving any road user,
Forms of road accident;
- head on collision; This occurs when two vehicles collide
- Vehicles running into one another
- vehicle hitting someone trekking along the road
- somersaulting ; a vehicle could lose control and somersault
- fire-caused accidents
Causes of road accident;
- over speeding; when vehicles run beyond authorized speed limits,accident could occur
- Tyre-burst; If the Tyre of a vehicle is weak and old it could burst on speed and cause serious accident
- Lack of concentration; Accident could occur if the driver is not concentrating,This could be as a result of eating,drinking,making phone calls,etc,while driving
- drinking and driving; Driving after taking alcohol will lead to accidents
- Bad road; potholes on the road could cause accidents for drivers,who are pot aware.This could lead to a vehicle to somersault or run into another vehicle while trying to avoid the pothole,
- sleeping on wheel; Those who drive though they are tired,and fagged out could sleep off on the steering thereby causing accident
- Bad eye sight; Poor vision will lead to accidents because it will be difficult to see road signs,on coming vehicles,etc
Effects of Road accidents
- loss of lives
- loss of property
- psychological trauma
- financial stress
Prevention that should be taken in order to prevent road accidents
- road signs should be constantly observed by road users;;
- vehicles should be checked to ensure they are roadworthy,
- Roads should be constantly maintained
- Drivers should not drinks,
- Road speed limits should be observed
- speed-limiter should be installed on all vehicles,
- Those who break road laws should be punished
