Comprehension Passage 

 

Mr  Alarape was a taxi driver in Oshogbo. He had one wife and four children. His children attend a primary school in town.

 

Mr. Alarape was a very hardworking man. He leaves home at 6, O’ clock in the morning and returns at 7 p.m., by then he would have delivered the money he realized that day to his boss, the owner of the car. One day, one of his passengers left a big bag in his cab. He opened the bag and found out that the bag was full of money.    He took the money to a nearby police station. Announcement was made on state radio and television concerning the money found.

 

Eventually, the owner came to claim the money at the police station with a proof of ownership; the man was happy and promised to reward Mr. Alarape for his honesty.

 

When members of the house of assembly got the information about the honest taxi driver, they invited him to the state’s House of Assembly and gave him a new big bus.

 

His name was written in gold, he become comfortable and rich without taking another man’s money.
