Content / Activities
- Provide adequate or sufficient space for the free movement of the learners.
- Expose the learners to explore the the football field.
- Guide and supervise the learner
- Guide the learners to display their gross motor skills like running, playing or kicking football with any parts of their bodies
- Set up goal two goal posts and let the pupils actually play real football
- Place the ball a bit far from the goal posts
- Invite the pupils to come up and kick the ball into the goal post

- Football Kicking improves the gross motor skills of the young learners
- It improves the ability of the young learners to concentrate
- It is an aid to improve the locomotive movement of the pupils

Class Teacher and Pupils Activities. Interaction or Participation
This involves class teacher and pupils’ interaction, conversation, imitation or modeling through discussion, play method or just by recitation or asking and answering questions that are related to the topic that has just been taught
- The class teacher tells the learners not to touch the football with their hands. It is only the goal keeper that is allowed to touch the ball with his or her hand
- The class teacher encourages the young learners and let them know that they can touch the ball with their head (This is called heading)
- Let the pupils know that they can talk, play or discuss with each other
- The teacher let the pupils to know that they can touch the ball with their chest (This is called chesting)
Football Rules for Kids
- Don’t play rough.
- Don’t push each other.
- Don’t touch the ball with your hands.
- We kick the ball and not the players.
- The goal keeper is allowed to catch the ball with his or her hand.
- There are eleven players in a team of football players.
- There are different posts a player can play in the football game. The positions are striker, defender, keeper and midfielder
