Avoiding Criminal Behaviours

1. Always obey the law: The law is there to protect you and others, so it’s important to follow it. For example, you should not steal, damage property, or hurt other people.
2. Say no to peer pressure: Sometimes, other kids might try to get you to do things that you know are wrong. It’s important to stand up for what’s right and say no if someone is pressuring you to do something that goes against your values.
3. Avoid dangerous situations: If you find yourself in a place where you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it’s best to leave as soon as possible. For example, if you’re walking home from school and notice a group of people who look like they might be up to no good, you should take a different route or ask an adult for help.
4. Be careful about what you share online: The internet can be a fun and useful tool, but it can also be a place where people can take advantage of you. It’s important to be careful about what you share online and never give out personal information to strangers.
5. Treat others with respect: Respecting other people’s property, feelings, and rights is important for building good relationships and avoiding conflicts that could lead to criminal behavior.
6. Report any suspicious activity: If you see something that doesn’t seem right, it’s important to tell a trusted adult about it. This could be anything from someone stealing something to a stranger acting in a suspicious manner.

Examples of Criminal Behaviours

1. Theft: This is when someone takes something that doesn’t belong to them without permission. For example, if someone steals a pencil or toy from another student’s bag, that is considered theft.
2. Vandalism: This is when someone intentionally damages or destroys property that belongs to someone else. For example, if someone spray paints graffiti on a wall or breaks a school window, that is considered vandalism.
3. Assault: This is when someone hurts or tries to hurt another person on purpose. For example, if someone hits, kicks, or pushes another student, that is considered assault.
4. Bullying: This is when someone repeatedly and intentionally targets another person with harmful behavior, such as teasing, name-calling, or physical aggression.
5. Cyberbullying: This is when someone uses technology, such as social media or texting, to bully or harass another person. For example, if someone sends mean messages or spreads rumors about another student online, that is considered cyberbullying.
