Parts of the Mouth

  1. Lips: The fleshy, movable structures that surround the opening of the mouth. The lips help to form words when speaking and also protect the teeth and gums.

  3. Tongue: A muscular organ that is located in the mouth and is used for tasting, swallowing, and speaking. The tongue is also used to move food around in the mouth while chewing.
