Meaning of Parasites
Parasites : Parasites are living things that live, grow and feed on other living things. Parasites depend on other living things for survival. They pest, disturb and make live miserable for thier hosts. Some parasites feed on thier hosts on the hosts become dead.
Examples of Parasites are lice, ticks, nematodes, worms, tapeworm, roundworm, lever fluke, mite etc
Hosts : Hosts are organisms that allow parasites to live on them. They are the Organisms that suffer the relations of being with parasites. When hosts are infected with parasites, the host may become diseased, weak, ill or dead if proper care and medication is not given to the hosts. Examples of hosts of Parasites are human being, pig, cattle, dog, cats etc
Types of Parasites
Endo parasites : These are parasites that live and feast inside thier hosts. They live inside the bodies of their hosts. Examples of endo parasites are worms like tapeworms, hookworms, roundworms, liver fluke etc
Ecto parasites : These are parasites that live outside the body of thier hosts. Examples of such parasites are ticks, lice, mite, They suck the blood of the hosts thereby having effects like loss of energy, strength, blood or life.
