Farm records are kept by farmers to ensure smooth running of day to day activities on the farm.

The following are the importance, Usefulness and benefits of keeping records by Farmers

  • It makes the farmer to plan for future planting activities as failure to plan is planning to fail
  • Record keeping gives the farmers a sense of the actual worth of things, produce and assets that are on the farm.
  • It makes it easy for the farmers to make both present decisions and future decisions
  • Recording keeping helps to plan, coordinate, organize, budget and account for things, crops and human on the farm
  • Record keeping helps farmer to compare this year yield with that of previous year
  • Record keeping helps the farmer to know if he or she is making a loss or a gain
  • The farm records that have been kept all this while by the farmers may be collected or gathered together to obtain loan or advances from banks
  • Record keeping helps the farmers to know the total sales and purchase that are made by the farm.
