What is a noun? 

A noun is a naming word. They are names that are given to peoples, animals, places, ideas, thoughts, concepts or things. A noun is a name of any person, animal, place or thing.

Examples of persons are George, John, Doctor, Teacher

Examples of animals are goats, dogs, cats, lion

Examples of places are market, banks, schools, church, mosque

Examples of things are laptop, computer, books, bags, ruler, chalkboard,

 

What is a pronoun?

A pronoun is a word that is used in place of nouns in sentences. A pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun. Examples of pronouns are he, she, we, us, them, him, her etc.

Examples in sentences 

  1. Mr Patrick is a good teacher (He is a good teacher )
  2. Mrs Johnson is our headmistress ( she is our headmistress)
  3. The man is our driver ( He is our driver)
  4. Children love Ice Cream ( They love it )
