High Way Codes Classification And Types.

 

Note that most high way codes have 3 major categories which are

  • Regulatory codes or signs : These codes are used on the high ways to conduct the ways and Manners that both the pedestrians and the motorists behave on the highways. Examples of regulatory codes are
    • No u turn
    • No right turn
    • Stop
    • Overtaking prohibited
    • No entry
    • No horn etc
  • Warning Signs or Symbols : These highway codes are used to give dire instructions to road users in respect of things that they must take precaution, heed or warnings. Examples of such highway codes are
    • DANGEROUS BEND LEFT
    • LONG GRADE DANGEROUS HILL
    • “T” JUNCTION
    • GENERAL DANGER SIGNS
  • Cautionary signs : Warning signs or cautionary signs give information to the driver about the impending road condition. They advice the driver to obey the rules. These signs are meant for the own safety of drivers. These sign. They call for extra vigilance from the part of drivers. Examples of these cautionary signs are
    • Left turn
    • Right turn
    • Narrow bridge ahead
    • Steep ascent
