What is drug abuse ?

Drug abuse is the use of naturally occurring drugs or synthetic drugs without a doctor consent or approval . It is also known as self medication in which individuals take drugs based on feelings , observations or comments by friends . Drug abuse is dangerous as it may lead to loss of life or mental illness .

How to prevent Drug Addiction 

  • Get involved in sporting activities
  • Engage in socially rewarding
  • Get youth informed about the dangers of drug addiction
  • Creation of awareness in respect of dangers inherent in drug addiction
  • Creation of youth empowerment scheme
  • Creation of skill acquisition centers
  •  Discipline
  • Keep away from bad friends
  • Keep all drugs out of reach from children
