Products of Technology

  1. Smartphones – A smartphone is a device that allows you to make phone calls, send text messages, take pictures, and access the internet. Examples include the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy.
  2. Tablets – A tablet is like a big phone or a small computer that allows you to watch videos, play games, and do schoolwork. Examples include the iPad or Amazon Fire.
  3. Smartwatches – A smartwatch is a device you wear on your wrist that can tell time, track your physical activity, and receive notifications from your phone. Examples include the Apple Watch or Fitbit.
  4. Video game consoles – A video game console is a device that you connect to your TV to play video games. Examples include the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X.
  5. Laptops – A laptop is a computer that you can carry around with you. You can use it to do schoolwork, watch videos, and browse the internet. Examples include the MacBook or Chromebook.
  6. Digital cameras – A digital camera is a device that allows you to take pictures and videos. Examples include the Canon PowerShot or Sony Cyber-shot.
  7. Smart home devices – Smart home devices are gadgets that you can control with your voice or your phone. Examples include the Amazon Echo, Google Nest, or Philips Hue lights.

  9. Drones – A drone is a flying machine that can take pictures or videos from high up in the air. Examples include the DJI Mavic Pro or Parrot Bebop.
  10. Virtual reality headsets – A virtual reality headset is a device that you wear on your head to enter a different world. Examples include the Oculus Quest or Samsung Gear VR.

Lesson Presentation

Materials:

  • Pictures of various technology products (smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, video game consoles, laptops, digital cameras, smart home devices, electric cars, drones, and virtual reality headsets)
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Handout with definitions of technology products and examples

Procedure:

  1. Introduction (5 minutes) a. Start by asking students what they know about technology and what kinds of technology products they use in their daily lives. b. Introduce the lesson’s objective and the various technology products that will be discussed.
  2. Defining Technology Products (5 minutes) a. Use the whiteboard to define technology products and their uses. b. Provide examples of technology products and discuss their uses and benefits.
  3. Exploring Technology Products (30 minutes) a. Display pictures of various technology products and discuss their features and uses with the students. b. Allow students to ask questions and share their experiences with the products. c. Provide additional information about the products, such as how they are made, how they work, and what kinds of skills are needed to use them. d. Distribute the handout with definitions of technology products and examples.
  4. Conclusion (5 minutes) a. Recap the lesson’s objective and review the technology products that were discussed. b. Allow students to ask any final questions they may have.

Assessment:

  • Observe the students’ participation and engagement during the lesson.
  • Have students write a short paragraph about their favorite technology product and what they like about it.
