What is a door mat  ?

A door mat is a type of mat that is made with the purpose of being laid at the door so that visitors and family members can use it to clean their shoe soles before entering the house . Door mats are also used for decorative purposes as it can be seen in homes and parlours of people . Doormats come in various shapes , sizes and colours.

 

What mare the materials that are needed for making door mats 

For the purpose of this lesson , we shall be looking at improvised doormat that can be made be students at home or in the classroom for learning . Materials that may be needed are the following

  • cardboard with different colours
  • scissors
  • razor blade
  • small wood
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • gum
  • cellotape
  • rubber
  • nylon
  • old onion sack

The Procedure

  1. Use the ruler and pencil to draw lines of equal squares on the old sack
  2. use the scissors to cut the sack into shapes
  3. weave the pieces of sack together
  4. use the gum on the wood so that the pieces of sack will stay on it
  5. Allow to dry before use

 

 

– Drawing instruments

These are the instruments that are used by artists , architect , painter or anyone whose vocation involves drawing to make their work easier , faster and better .

  • pencil
  • ruler

  • stencil
  • sharpener
  • mathematics set
  • tee square
  • Protractor
  • Pair of compass
  • Pallet etc

– Uses of drawing instruments

  • They are used for drawing lines
  • They are used for measuring  shapes
  • Drawing instruments are used for drawing shapes
  • Some of these instruments are used to measure angles
  • They are used to construct , measure and divide circles

 

Presentation

 

The topic is presented step by step

 

Step 1:

The class teacher revises the previous topics

 

Step 2.

He introduces the new topic

 

Step 3:

The class teacher allows the pupils to give their own examples and he corrects them when the needs arise

 

 

Conclusion

The class teacher wraps up or conclude the lesson by giving out short note to summarize the topic that he or she has just taught.

The class teacher also goes round to make sure that the notes are well copied or well written by the pupils.

He or she does the necessary corrections when and where  the needs arise.
